The Dining Hall

About The Dining Hall

The Dining Hall at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Mahoning District Council, Inc. provides warm meals and friendly faces to those in need of both daily. The dining hall is a judgement-free environment open to all, and everybody, from guests to volunteers to employees, strive to provide an atmosphere that is welcoming to all.

Being a Vincentian means being a community, forming and growing one-on-one relationships with guests and volunteers alike.

We provide a warm, welcoming environment for hungry friends to share both a meal and good company. We serve more than 1,500 hot meals, five days a week and breakfast Saturday mornings. Annually, our volunteers serve nearly 42,000 meals to guests at our Dining Hall.

Dining Hall Rules

1. Treat others the way you want to be treated — with respect and love! Act as though you were in the presence of Jesus Himself.

2. The Dining Hall is a drug-free, weapon-free, peaceful meeting space. Please keep it as such! A Youngstown Police Officer is on-duty anytime our Dining Hall is open.

3. Please clean up after yourself. No leaving a mess for others!

4. Please wait for Seconds to be called before returning to the line. The need is great! Look out for one another, and wait respectfully.

5. If we are able, our volunteers will send food out of the Dining Hall at the conclusion of daily service. This depends entirely on what we have to work with that day. We cannot guarantee there will be extra left over.

6. Whether you are a volunteer, a guest, or an employee of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Mahoning District Council, Inc., we each have a responsibility for one another! You ARE your brother's keeper here! Take good care of one another.
