About The Food Pantry

The Food Pantry at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Mahoning District Council, Inc. provides grocery supplements to individuals and families in need 5 days a week Monday through Friday year-round.

The pantry is a resource for our neighbors with food insecurity. Our inventory of fresh and non-perishable goods is built on the kindness of community food drives, businesses and individuals.

Nearly 4,000 friends in our communities need help supplementing their food sources consistently. An average of 500 “Walk-ins” per week (our neighbors who didn’t first approach a parish Council) are also welcome. On average, we distribute more than 1,400 pallets of Emergency Food Assistance annually. Bread is available daily to anyone, regardless of voucher.

Diapers, one of the most requested items among our guests, are stocked and distributed as we get them in. We also distribute donated school supplies to hundreds of area students annually.

All guests are required to have a voucher in order to receive a food box. To receive a voucher, begin by calling a participating Society of St. Vincent de Paul Parish Conference closest to where you reside.
